The first weekend in June, I had the opportunity to travel to Charleston, South Carolina to design at a dear friends destination wedding. I didn’t have a lot of free time, but when I did I just had to explore this cute city. My first stop was to this breakfast/lunch restaurant, The Daily. I had the iced vanilla latte and quiche which were both very good! They also carry fresh juice and other healthy food options.
I stayed at an Air bnb within walking (long walking!!) distance to King street, so one morning I took a walk to see all the pretty buildings and stop for a coffee & donut.
Also, had to stop to admire all the local jasmine vine just freely growing along the sidewalks. If only I had my clippers with me!!
The night before the wedding, I had happy hour at my favorite place (for decor) and drinks, too. Vintage Lounge- the cutest!! Also, the best grilled fish tacos I’ve ever had…Juanita’s which is just a few blocks away from the Vintage Lounge.
Then wedding day which was at The Gasden House. The most beautiful historical house with the best fireplaces & chandeliers I’ve ever seen!!
We loaded up the long wooden tables with candles and flowers for our sweet bride who was in love with a moody, romantic vibe!
I can not wait to get all the photos back from the photographer to share with you! Overall, Charleston was the best time! It did rain on and off every day, but I think (maybe) that helped it not be so hot. While I did spend most of my time in the downtown area, I HAD to go see my favorite thing ever…
If you are an ocean lover like me, I would 100% take a few hours to go visit. It does take around 30 mins to drive (the traffic wasn’t the best when I was there), but I went to the Isle of Palms. There are a few different beaches around which I’m sure they are all beautiful. I went pretty early in the day and by the time I had to leave it was getting very crowded, so I would suggest get there as early as you can if you want to enjoy a more relaxed beach time.
